We are all set up and the studio looks amazing! It's a HUGE sale and we have so many amazing people participating including Dahlia Drive, Florence Ann, Morija Designs, Janna Maria Textiles, Emperial Indigo, Kozie Puppets, Dreamy Isabel, Vanessa Cunningham and many many more.
Today Emily began weaving the 7 meters of fabric for what will be a cropped double-breasted jacket, a pattern she designed herself while at UFV fashion school. The lovely pattern you're seeing is an undulating twill which she is weaving with a 50% silk 50% wool blend yarn, half of which is hand-dyed by her.
The Capilano University textiles student sale features fibre art made by current students as well as alumni of the Textile Art Program.
The sale coincides with the annual Capilano University open house. So, If you are interested in the Textiles program (or any other Cap program) there will be demos and presentations taking place as well.
